At the University of Arts ,,George Enescu”, at the Department of Music, worked Prof. Ada Burlui who led the department and also had some other functions such as rector, ARACIS evaluator etc.
First, she was the Interpretation teacher of the University, at the Faculty of Interpretation, mainly singing class-oratorio and lied. Also, Prof. dr. Ada Burlui was singer of the Romanian National Opera in Iasi between 1989 and 1992, where she held a rich repertoire of lied and vocal-symphonic music.
Prof. dr. Ada Burlui distinguished above all by a solid artistic background (first made studies of piano and then singing).
During her prestigious career she performed on great stages all over the world. She received honorary degrees from the Ministry of Culture and the Romanian National Opera and diploma of excellence from Western University of Timisoara. She held courses of Master class at the Conservatory of Music in Larisa, Greece, and was Master of the Singing choir of children “Angelli” at the Radio-Television in Iaşi and the choir “Gabriel Muzicescu” of the Philharmonic Moldova.
Her unmatched voice delighted the audience each time and have sparked rounds of applause during concerts in Vienna, Brussels and Liege.
“Oamenii Cetăţii” Foundation together with partners and sponsors pay tribute to Prof. Ada Burlui and the city of Iaşi by organizing the first edition of the International Lied Competition named after the prestigious artist.
